OSAGE, LLC FACT SHEET
WHAT: On April 8, 2008, resolution number ONCR 08-09 was passed under the Osage Nation Limited Liability Companies Act, by the Osage Nation Congress, to establish a limited liability company, Osage, LLC, to manage the Osage Nation’s business activities separate from the affairs of tribal government. In an effort to enhance and grow the economic development of the Osage Nation, this resolution provided the ability for Osage, LLC to enter into legally-binding contracts and commercial relationships without the need for formal tribal government action.
WHEN: Osage, LLC was established on April 8 by the Osage Nation Congress.
WHO: Following the establishment of Osage, LLC, in 2008, a board of directors was formed to oversee the management of Osage, LLC. Initially, Chuck Maker, Paul Bruce and Skip Iba were elected as board members. In October 2008, Chuck Maker was elected board chairman. In December 2008, Liz Ricketts and Jonathon Taylor were added as interim board members and later confirmed as permanent board members in 2009. In 2010, board member Paul Bruce was reappointed for three years. In spring 2009, Carol Leese accepted the position of chief executive officer and began organizing an executive team to manage and grow Osage, LLC. In March of 2009, the Osage Nation made a resolution to transfer the Osage Data, Tulsa Air Park, and other assets, to Osage, LLC. Through Leese’s leadership, multiple passive investments were made and teaming partnerships along with mergers and acquisition were pursued and established to further increase the revenues of Osage, LLC.
SUBSIDIARIES: Osage, LLC has six subsidiaries: Osage Manhattan Builders; Osage Pinnacle Design Group; Osage Advisors, LLC; Osage National, LLC; Osage Data; and Osage Innovative Solutions, LLC.
Osage Manhattan Builders
Created to bring quality construction to Indian Country without sacrificing the vision of its Osage heritage, Osage Manhattan Builders (OMB) is a joint venture between Osage, LLC (55% ownership) and Manhattan Construction Company (45% ownership). Focused primarily on working with American Indian tribes, OMB brings more than 110 years of construction experience through its partner, Manhattan Construction Company. OMB team members have participated in casino, healthcare, institutional, religious, and general office building construction projects and have received numerous awards during these processes.
Osage Pinnacle Design Group
Created to further enhance the construction division by offering architect and engineering services and providing an avenue to pursue an 8(a) certification in construction, Osage Pinnacle Design Group is 100% owned by Osage, LLC. With more than 84 years of combined experience in architect, engineering, and general contracting experience, Pinnacle Design Group provides the past experience, size, and intellectual property necessary to meet the goals set for the construction division. OPDG team members have participated in government, municipality, tribal housing, event center, athletic facilities, and religious and general office building projects, and have received several awards for their design and leadership on these projects.
Osage Advisors, LLC
Osage Advisors, LLC (OA) offers general business and economic development consulting services to American Indian tribes. OA also contracts with companies that seek to introduce their products and services to Indian Country. The company is 100% owned by Osage, LLC.
Osage National, LLC
Osage National, LLC (ON) is a Joint Venture (JV) between Osage Advisors, LLC and National Holdings Corp. The purpose of this JV is to enter the capital markets by acquiring a Financial Industry Regulated Authority (FINRA) licensed broker dealer. Upon FINRA approval, ON’s minority owned broker dealer will begin offering investment banking services. In the future, ON will seek to expand by including municipal transactions and institutional trading.
Osage Data
Osage Data is a professional consulting firm that focuses on providing information technology (IT) solutions. In 2010, through its work with 12 other American Indian tribes as part of the Intertribal Information Technology Company, Osage Data proceeded to position itself to be an aggressive competitor in IT industry, providing products and services for network systems, collaboration, voice and video, wireless/mobility, enterprise system services and project management. In 2010, Osage Data continued to serve the Intertribal Information Technology Company contract successfully cataloguing and digitally recording materials for the U.S. Department of Defense to include the U.S. Marine Corps and the U.S. Air Force. Most significantly, Osage Data began cataloguing digitally recorded materials for other tribal nations, including the Forest County Potawatomi of Wisconsin. In 2010, Osage Data continued to make great strides in diversifying its client base and product offerings to meet the new needs of the firm’s future.
Osage Innovative Solutions
Osage Innovative Solutions is a company with expertise in areas of the convergence of Internet protocol, the open based language that creates the value of all aspects of today’s technology. In 2010, preparations continued to be made on the development of designations, SBA compliance, and product deliverable construction for Osage Innovative Solutions. In 2011, the company hopes to realize the designation of SBA 8(A) based on the technologies that rely on Internet protocol to communicate. The services coming into alignment will address technology sectors used for 90% of all technical devices that communicate today, including: data; voice; video; security; and all software. Osage Innovative Solutions is skilled in ensuring delivery of technology benefits through the application of new industry standards and industry expertise.
