Job Overview
Osage Nation Environmental Solutions (ONES) is seeking a qualified individual to join our dynamic team of professionals to support the Department of Veteran’s Affairs with Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA) support to West LA EUL actions. Successful Candidate must have subject matter expertise in the proper application of CERCLA, its associated actions, planning, and reporting. More specifically, implementing and supporting clients with Title 27 Code of California Regulations, as they pertain to Post-Closure Land Use and/or Post Operations, Monitoring and Maintenance of Legacy Landfills.

Duties & Responsibilities will include:

  • Review and provide substantive comments regarding CERCLA planning documents and reporting.
  • Provide status reports (updates) on projects assigned (progress, issues, and trends) to leadership and keeps project information repository current.
  • Review project progress, measuring performance and, when necessary, presenting necessary corrective actions to maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Reconcile concerns assuring that all participating parties are informed of project progress, issues, and impacts.
  • Potential to serve as VA POC with other agencies, groups, or individuals to include but not limited to the EPA, state and local government officials, leaders of public interest groups, attorneys, and private contractors.

Qualifications (Education & Experience):

  • Must hold a related bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
  • Must have 7 or more years related work experience preferably with construction or real property projects/actions.
  • Expertise in the proper application of CERCLA, its associated actions, planning, and reporting.
  • Knowledge and understanding of State and local solid waste landfill closure guidelines and requirements.
  • Knowledge and understanding of CalRecycle (i.e., California Integrated Waste Management Board) and Los Angeles County Department of Human Health, Solid Waste Management Program (Local Enforcement Agency [LEA]) guidelines and requirements.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to work independently with general guidance and minimal supervision.
  • Candidate must be a U.S Citizen, have a current driver’s license, and be able to obtain and maintain a favorable background security investigation.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Software (Word, Power Point, Publisher, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Must be available for up to 50% travel throughout the US.
